Recent research in analytical chemistry involves synthesis and characterization of materials and nanomaterials for analytical purposes utilizing synthetic and natural resources (eg: synthetic ligand, photocatalytic material, functional polymer, natural based sorbent, nanocellulose, nanofibre, nanostructured materials etc). Analytical application of the prepared materials includes but not limited to environmental clean-up, sensor application and other analytical method development. Examples of Method developments explored are electrochemical and optical based analysis, chemical and biosensor development and water treatment procedures and prototypes.
